Climate Change

Climate change refers to long-term alterations in temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other elements of the Earth’s climate system, primarily due to human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. These activities increase the concentration of greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide and methane, in the atmosphere, leading to a rise in global temperatures and disrupting natural climatic patterns. The consequences of climate change include severe weather events, rising sea levels, ice melt in polar regions, changes in ecosystems and wildlife populations, and increased risks to human health and food security. Efforts to mitigate climate change focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing adaptation strategies to its impacts.
