MMA

MMA, or Mixed Martial Arts, is a full-contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills from a mixture of other combat sports to be used in competition. It is characterized by the use of both striking (such as boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai) and grappling (such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu, wrestling, and judo). Fighters in MMA compete in an octagonal cage or a boxing ring, with rules designed to ensure the safety of participants while allowing them to showcase their versatility in martial arts. The sport has gained widespread popularity globally, promoted through organizations such as the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). MMA athletes often undergo rigorous training in multiple disciplines to prepare for fights, and matches can be won by knockout, submission, or judges’ decision.
