Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport played between either two players (singles) or two teams of two players each (doubles). The game is played on a rectangular court divided by a net, and the objective is to hit a lightweight ball with a racket so that it passes over the net and lands within the opponent’s court dimensions. Players score points by successfully hitting the ball in such a way that the opponent is unable to return it. Tennis is governed by a set of rules known as the “Laws of Tennis,” which detail aspects such as scoring, court dimensions, and equipment. The sport emphasizes agility, strategy, and precision, and can be played on various surfaces including grass, clay, and hard courts. Tennis is popular worldwide and includes major tournaments such as the Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
