Košarka

Košarka, or basketball, is a team sport involving two teams that typically consist of five players each, who compete to score points by shooting a ball through the opponent’s hoop elevated 10 feet above the ground. The game is played on a rectangular court with a hoop at each end. Points are scored in various ways; a field goal made from inside the three-point line is worth two points, while a field goal made from beyond the three-point line is worth three points. Additionally, free throws are awarded after certain fouls and are each worth one point.

The objective of the game is to score more points than the opposing team within the regulation time, which is typically divided into four quarters. Basketball emphasizes skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and teamwork. It is governed by specific rules that dictate gameplay, fouls, and the shot clock, which limits the amount of time a team has to attempt a shot. Basketball is popular worldwide and has various professional leagues, including the NBA (National Basketball Association) in the United States, and FIBA (International Basketball Federation) governs international competition. Coach strategies and player versatility greatly influence the outcome and style of play in basketball.
