Geopolitics

Geopolitics refers to the study of the effects of geography (human and physical) on international politics and international relations. It involves analyzing how geographical factors such as location, resources, climate, and population influence political power, strategic decisions, and global interactions. Geopolitical analysis often considers the strategic interests of nations, the territorial disputes, resource allocations, regional stability, and the impacts of geography on security and diplomacy. By understanding these spatial dynamics, geopolitics seeks to explain the behavior of states and non-state actors in the global arena, including their alliances, conflicts, and policies. Key concepts in geopolitics include concepts like heartland theory, rimland theory, and the balance of power.
